Leighton Road Ø2100 shaft water-stop seal
A bolted steel seal plate to close off a 2.1 m diameter drainage shaft so works downstream could proceed in the dry.

To work on a live drainage line at Leighton Road, a 2,100 mm diameter shaft had to be sealed watertight.
We measured the shaft opening and designed a segmented steel seal: a 10 mm angle frame anchored with expansion bolts, 20 mm locking plates, and bolted closing panels sized so divers could handle and fit each piece inside the shaft.
